A England Briarwood

Today I have a polish I wore a couple weeks ago and just loved. I was supposed to be doing some swatching, but I just couldn't bare to take this one off quite yet so the swatching was put on hold for a couple days, but has since been done, just not posted yet. That post will be up in a few days hopefully! Anyway, here is A England Briarwood, it is so pretty! I just love every single A England polish, they never fail to disappoint in formula. This went on easily in 2 coats, but 1 was almost enough, like with most A England. I tend to do 2 coats no matter what out of habit though. Here is the beauty that is Briarwood!

Favorite Indies, part 4

Happy New Years Eve everyone! I hope you all have a fun and safe evening, we are staying home and not doing much of anything. My daughter is 7 and thinks it is the coolest thing ever to stay up til midnight :). No matter how bad or good your 2012 was, I wish for everyone to have a 2013 that is a million times better.

Lets move right on to those indie brands that I own the most of!

Sat-ART-Day - reptiles and frogs

Todays Sat-ART-Day challenge is to do reptiles and frogs. I used my BM15 lizard stamp. I did 3 coats of Dollish Polish Baby Gravy for a nice white sandy beach and A England Dragon for the lizards.

Not happy with it, but as I left it to the last minute it will have to do.

ABC Challenge - A

Today is the start of the first challenge I am taking part in, the ABC challenge. I'm excited to be getting into challenges, I love to be organized so what better way than knowing what you are going to post ahead of time! We will be posting once a week, on Wednesdays, as we do one letter of the alphabet each week. The only rule is that something in your mani has to start with the letter of the week: polish brand name, polish name, color, style used to create it, anything. I am going to try to be more creative than just using brand name and polish name each week, so I can challenge myself to be better at nail art.

I received all 3 Bundle Monster stamping plate sets for my birthday last week, so I now have those to help me out! So far I love them, the designs are pretty cool. I did notice after my Bundle Monster organizer came in and I was removing the blue film off each plate and putting it in the organizer, that I was missing a plate. I looked all over to be sure it just hadn't fallen, and not finding it I emailed the company. They got back to me right away with a reply saying they were very sorry and that a replacement plate would be shipped out to me right away. Now, I haven't used any of the plates yet but the one for this mani since I just got them, but I can say I can't fault their customer service. Very pleased with that, and I'm looking forward to using the plates a lot in the future!

A England Lady of the Lake

Today I have for you another amazing A England polish called Lady of the Lake. It is described on the A England website as: dusky purple with rainbow glimmer and glow. It is a beautiful purple, unfortunately there was no sun when I wore this to get the rainbow glimmer to come out, but it was there. I think its still beautiful even without it, so when it did show up in flashes of light it just added to it. Formula is exactly what I've come to expect from A England, which is flawless. I used 2 coats with a top coat here.

Once Upon a Polish Arabian Nights

Today I have for you 2 polishes, A England Elaine topped with Once Upon a Polish Arabian Nights. I did 2 coats of Elaine, usual A England perfect formula and 1 coat of Arabian Nights. Had no issues with Arabian Nights either, went on great with no problems getting the glitter out. I will say my picture makes it appear that the polish is bumpy, but I couldn't feel any sort of bumpiness at all really. Not much else to say, so lets see the pics!

A England Guinevere

Happy Friday! I'm so glad I had today off. Now just another 4 work days and then Spring Break! Today I have another A England polish, Guinevere. At first I didn't really want this polish. I thought I had seen swatches of it where it looked like a pinky color, and apparently I can't read either to see the description on A Englands site calling it a dusty mauve! On a whim I decided to buy it when I placed my ninjapolish.com order, and I'm so glad I did! I LOVE this color, I think it might be my favorite purple color I own that I've worn so far. It went on really well, was almost perfect after 2 coats but I did a third thin coat to fill in a couple small patchy spots.

First picture is in the shade and the second is in the sun. I also have to apologize for mu cuticles, they don't look that bad in person but work is really taking its toll on them :(

Nail mail and recent purchases

Within the last week I have received my shipments from Spooky Bones, Dollish Polish (both from Etsy), and Ninja Polish. I was going to wait to post this until I got my Zoya order as well, but it can take a while to get stuff from them for some reason. Of course now it will be here tomorrow since I'm posting! I also bought a couple polishes recently while out shopping to show you. I have a 3 day weekend this week, so hopefully I can wear at least 2 of these colors in that time. Hope the sun stays out!

A England Dragon

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Today I have a color I have been waiting to wear, but made myself wait for this weekend. A England Dragon is a beautiful green holo. I love this polish so much, the color is amazing and the name just makes it that much better. I love dragons, so I'm glad this polish does not disappoint! This isn't a holo with a rainbow of colors that shows up (at least not very strongly), its mostly a golden holo, which makes it look like dragon scales to me which I love. Formula was wonderful, I used 2 coats but if I was a bit more careful it could have been 1.

This may not be as creative as some of the St. Patty's Day manicures I've seen with the leprechauns and rainbows and pots of gold and clovers, but I could never paint anything like that. Sadly today is a typical English day and it was cloudy and rainy so these pictures are inside with flash since even the little bit of natural light I did get wasn't enough to show ANY holo. Maybe the rainbow holo effect shows up more in the direct sun, but I will have to wait to find out.

A England Galahad

This was the first of my A England polishes to come in, and I couldn't wait to try it. But then the rest of my order came in and I couldn't decide between the 8 I ordered! I finally used the highly scientific method of narrowing it down to 4 (which was hard!), shuffling the bottles up with my eyes closed and using eeny, meeny, miny, moe to choose. Galahad won. I am really impressed with this brand already. I used 2 coats and it was perfect. I love the color, I have so many blues but I can't ever get enough of all the different shades! I should be taking this off tonight for work tomorrow, but since it has recently started snowing I'm foolishly hoping school is cancelled tomorrow.
