Today I have some random swatches that are just sitting in my unposted folder. So lets get right to it!
First up I have Models Own Pinky Brown. I have to admit, this is one of the better pictures I have ever taken of my nails. I'm still working against the lovely England weather with hardly no sun, so I don't think they ever come out that great in the indoor lighting. But for this one I managed to actually even get the color shift to show up! This is 2 coats.
Next up I have for you Butter London Artful Dodger. Since I am admitting things, I have to say with all the hype I heard about this brand before I owned any, I"m not that impressed with it. It's good polish, I just don't really see anything special about it, especially not enough to justify the more expensive price tag. I have 2, and those will probably be the only 2 I ever have. I do like this blue, its a great shade. This is 3 coats.
Next up, another brand that I heard a lot of hype over that didn't live up to it, Rescue Beauty Lounge. I have Aqua Lily, a beautiful color, but again the formula didn't live up to the hype for the price. I have 2 of these as well and will probably not buy any more of these either. I do love the color, this is 3 coats.
To end on a happier note, I have Hits Hera. Hits were my first ever holos, and I love them just as much now as I did when I first saw them. They started my love affair with all things holo! This is 2 coats of Hera, actually taken in the sun this past summer!
Kind of a bummer post today, what with 2 brands I was disappointed in, but you can't like everything! The colors are still great, and the formulas aren't bad, just not as impressive as they are made to seem. Or at least as impressive as it seemed to me they should be from the glowing praise I read before getting them.

HITS Poseidon
Happy Memorial Day weekend! The sun has been shining here so I decided to take advantage of it and wear a holo I haven't worn yet! I chose HITS Poseidon, a pretty light ice blue kind of color. Formula was just as good as the other HITS holos I've used, but since its a lighter color I used between 3 and 4 coats for some nails to get better color. I did do this at night, and sleeping before I got to take pics kind of messed it up a little. I think since I still have Sunday and Monday off I might change this out after I clean house, I have so many colors I haven't worn that I'm dying to! Only 13 more work days til I am off for the summer and can wear polish everyday! I'm excited :)
The first picture is in the shade so you can see the pretty color, the other two are in the sun to show the holo!

Hits Demeter
I had today off, so I was able to paint my nails last night instead of having to wait til tonight. I chose Hits Demeter after looking at my stash then randomly picking it up. I love this color. Yellow and orange aren't my favorite colors, but orange polish seems to be the exception. Especially one this pretty with the holo! I used 3 coats, but the formula was great. As with Ares when I used it, not too much cleanup needed. I did get a bit of shrinkage from my top coat, more noticeable on my index finger, that didn't seem to happen before. The sun decided to hide all day, so the pic is inside with flash. It was the only way to get ANY of the holo to show up. I'm not sure how much longer I will wear this, having a 3 day weekend means I'm itching to wear another color while I have the chance!

Zoya Pippa
This is what I wore this past weekend. I took advantage of the Zoya promo they ran back in January to get 2 free polishes and just pay shipping. I picked Pippa and Paz, 2 colors I probably wouldn't have normally picked out, but since they were free I figured why not? I also got a couple other colors at the same time and their mini color lock system. I chose to wear Pippa as my first Zoya polish, and I think I did a disservice to Zoya by picking a yellow as my first color to try. First, I'm not much of a yellow person, but I do love bright polishes and am getting into spring mode so a bright was what I wanted. Second, yellows aren't the easiest colors to apply most of the time, and I'm not the best at applying anyway! I used 3-4 coats to get everything evened out and I still wasn't completely happy in the end.
Now for pictures! Sadly there was no sun while I wore this, comes with living in England!
I decided I liked the color a bit, but wanted to try out my Hits Hefesto holo top coat so after a bit I added it on top. Made me like the color way more!

Speciallita Hits No Olimpo - Apolo
So for my first real post, I'm showing you the color I wore last weekend. As soon as I saw swatches of this collection, I knew I had to have them all! Once they arrived, they were even better than expected. With so many colors to choose from, a friend actually picked the color I should wear first because I couldn't decide (Hi S!). Now, I am not the best when it comes to painting my nails (though I am improving) and with this polish, it was so easy and I had very little clean up after, even on the dreaded right hand! I have now used 3 of the other colors as well, and I am just as impressed with those as I was with Apolo. I am so glad I ordered the whole collection!
Now for the pics. I had a really hard time getting the holo awesomeness to show up on camera, like I said in my intro post I'm still getting the hang of all this and this was the first time I've worn a holo. The first 2 pics are inside in natural light, then once the sun finally came out, I took the second 2 in direct sun. These are after a full day and a half wear time, so there is a bit of tip wear, but not as bad as is usual for me.
As a bonus, here are my daughters nails after over a week of wearing Hits Hestia. Shes 6 and already loves nail polish to death, this could be trouble! This is inside in natural light.
Thats it for my first real post! I will post in a couple days with what I am currently wearing, then after that it will be once a weekend when I can wear polish again!
