Zoya Pippa

This is what I wore this past weekend. I took advantage of the Zoya promo they ran back in January to get 2 free polishes and just pay shipping. I picked Pippa and Paz, 2 colors I probably wouldn't have normally picked out, but since they were free I figured why not? I also got a couple other colors at the same time and their mini color lock system. I chose to wear Pippa as my first Zoya polish, and I think I did a disservice to Zoya  by picking a yellow as my first color to try. First, I'm not much of a yellow person, but I do love bright polishes and am getting into spring mode so a bright was what I wanted. Second, yellows aren't the easiest colors to apply most of the time, and I'm not the best at applying anyway! I used 3-4 coats to get everything evened out and I still wasn't completely happy in the end.

Now for pictures! Sadly there was no sun while I wore this, comes with living in England!

I decided I liked the color a bit, but wanted to try out my Hits Hefesto holo top coat so after a bit I added it on top. Made me like the color way more!

Speciallita Hits No Olimpo - Apolo

So for my first real post, I'm showing you the color I wore last weekend. As soon as I saw swatches of this collection, I knew I had to have them all! Once they arrived, they were even better than expected. With so many colors to choose from, a friend actually picked the color I should wear first because I couldn't decide (Hi S!). Now, I am not the best when it comes to painting my nails (though I am improving) and with this polish, it was so easy and I had very little clean up after, even on the dreaded right hand! I have now used 3 of the other colors as well, and I am just as impressed with those as I was with Apolo. I am so glad I ordered the whole collection!

Now for the pics. I had a really hard time getting the holo awesomeness to show up on camera, like I said in my intro post I'm still getting the hang of all this and this was the first time I've worn a holo. The first 2 pics are inside in natural light, then once the sun finally came out, I took the second 2 in direct sun. These are after a full day and a half wear time, so there is a bit of tip wear, but not as bad as is usual for me.

As a bonus, here are my daughters nails after over a week of wearing Hits Hestia. Shes 6 and already loves nail polish to death, this could be trouble! This is inside in natural light.

Thats it for my first real post! I will post in a couple days with what I am currently wearing, then after that it will be once a weekend when I can wear polish again!

PSA announcement

Before I post my first nail polish color (probably tomorrow), I want to let everyone know about an awesome giveaway a blog I follow is doing. Over at Finger Painted, she is giving away some of the China Glaze Hunger Games colors! Head on over here to enter, and may the odds be ever in your favor!

Welcome!!

Hi! I'm Jen, welcome to my blog! I figured I would do a little bit of an intro post before I get started posting. I'm 31, been married for 13 years, and have a 6 year old daughter (whose nails will occasionally be featured here as well). I work in her Elementary School cafeteria, I started in January. I really like it, except one thing: we aren't allowed to wear nail polish! Just my luck that as I'm really getting into my polish obsession, I get a job where I can't wear it. But thats what weekends, Spring Break (only 6 weeks away!) and summer are for! In between then I satisfy my polish needs with painting my daughters nails and toes, and my toes. No need to worry, I will never post toes pics here! I know that weirds some people out. I do have to say as well that I am still getting the hang of my new camera and taking polish pics, so I hope to improve as time goes by. Also working in the cafeteria is not exactly kind to my hands and nails, but I do my best to keep them looking decent. I think that about covers the basics, so I will leave you with a picture of my polish collection as of today (I have more on the way!) Not exactly the best storage solution, but until my husband build that custom shelf for me, it works:
