Cult Nails Be Loco

Happy Thursday! This week has been pretty nice with not having to get up at 6 am with snow days, and tomorrow is a 2 hour delay so I get to sleep until at least 8. But having to work at 7am Sunday means I have to be up early that day, so that sucks. But I get off at 2 which means I will be home in plenty of time for the Super Bowl! I'm more interested in seeing Bruno Mars at the halftime show but I will still enjoy the game. I'm going for Denver just because I always pick one team that I want to win whether I'm a fan of either team or not.

Anyway, today I bring you Cult Nails Be Loco. You saw this one under glitter yesterday, so I am now showing it alone. Its a great orange color, it still surprises me how much I love orange nail polish colors when its my second least favorite color normally! I used 3 coats and top coat, and it went on like a dream.

Rainbow Honey

Hi! Hope everyone is doing well, the week is half over! This post should have been up a couple days ago but my cat got hurt and unfortunately was too hurt and had to be put to sleep yesterday, so its been a rough couple of days. Today is a snow day for us here so I am taking the opportunity while being lazy to get this post up. Tomorrow is likely to be another snow day, with at least a 2 hour delay so hopefully I can bring you another post tomorrow.

Today I have some polishes from Rainbow Honey that were provided for review. They consist of 2 of their Valentines Collection that was released last year and that has been re-released with 3 more this year, 2 of their most popular glitters from last year, and 1 upcoming polish from their spring collection. I actually have purchased the 4 colors already out for myself when they were released, but haven't reviewed them yet, so now I will!

First I have Be Mine from the Valentines Sweet Talk collection. This is a pretty pink with gold flecks and shimmer. I used 3 coats and top coat. It went on very easily.

Next up I have XOXO, which I put 1 coat of over Be Mine with top coat. This went on easily with good glitter coverage for just the one coat. XOXO is a clear base with different sizes and shapes of pink glitter with flakes.

Now I have the first of the 2 best sellers from last year. Summer Blossom is a clear base with iridescent and holo glitters and orange, white and yellow blossoms. I used 2 coats with top coat over Cult Nails Be Loco. The blossoms came out fairly easily, with at least 1 with each dip of the brush.

The second of the best sellers is The Kraken. I love this one, its super pretty! The Kraken is a jelly filled with blue and green glitters and shimmer. I used 1 coat with top coat over OPI Yodel Me On My Cell, even though this can be worn on its own in about 3 coats. 1 coat over the base completely covered the nail.

Lastly I have Papillion, the glitter from the upcoming Midnight Garden Spring collection. I used 2 coats with top coat over Nubar Honeysuckle. This is a clear base with different sizes of holographic glitter and holo butterflies. It is super pretty, and I think it will look good over a variety of bases.

As a bonus for you all, Rainbow Honey has generously given me a promo code for you all to use! Use the code ILOVENAILBLOGS to save $5 off your next order. Code expires 3/31/14 so that gives you time to decide what to buy!

Rainbow Honey Metalmark

Happy Tuesday! I told you I would be back today with what I topped Totes Magotes with, and here it is!

With a recent order from Rainbow Honey, they were offering grab bags. Of course I got one, and when it came I was ecstatic! It contained 3 minis, I got Magic Cake which I love and am happy to have a back up mini of it, and 2 minis from an upcoming, as yet unannounced collection! Both colors I got are beautiful, so I'm really looking forward to finding out the inspiration and seeing the rest! I will have to second of the 2 for you in the next day or 2 as well, but for today I have Metalmark.

Metalmark is a glitter topper in a clear base that has a pink shimmer running through it with various sizes of aqua colored glitters as well as silver holo butterflies. As soon as I put on Totes Magotes I knew I had to top it with Metalmark after a day or so. It went on easily, I used 2 coats plus top coat and had no trouble getting out any of the larger butterflies. With no fishing I was able to get at least 1 on every nail. Here is one pic in the sun and one in the shade.

Stay tuned for the second color from the grab bag! What do you think of Metalmark? Any ideas on its inspiration?

Dollish Polish Totes Magotes

Happy Monday! Hope everyone had a good weekend and those that are off today for MLK Jr. day enjoy it as well. Today I have for you Dollish Polish Totes Magotes.

Totes Magotes is a minty holo that was a limited edition color, so I'm sorry if you didn't get your hands on it! Its too pretty not to share though. It went on like a dream, I used 3 coats and top coat. I have a picture in shade and in sun to show the base color and the holo in this beauty.

Rainbow Honey The Bubbly

I got the job! I actually left the interview Saturday already knowing I had the job. I start the 23rd, working in the deli at the local grocery store. Only part time, which is perfect, and I am actually getting a great hourly wage considering. My previous cafeteria experience helped with that so yay! Not quite sure what this means for my nails or nail polish yet, so that might not be so good :(. But what can I do. I will still be doing swatches even if I can't wear my CNS all the time, so you may be seeing a lot more of my natural shorties again soon!

To celebrate getting the job, on Sunday I applied 2 coats of Rainbow Honey The Bubbly to the OPI DS Classic I was already wearing. The Bubbly is iridescent glitters and opalescent flakes in a clear base. I topped it with The Bubbly scented top coat as well. The Bubbly went on really well, no issues with that at all. The top coat smells nice, and isn't very strong once dried, so no worries about smelling it unless your hands get close to your face.

OPI DS Classic

Howdy! Its been a while. Hope everyone had a great holiday and new year! I am going to try something this year, I am going to actually try and wear all the polish I already have at least once instead of buying more and more that just sit untried. I am going to limit my purchases to colors that I OMG HAVE TO HAVE instead of buying a bunch each month. Most of my new purchases from this point on are likely to be from indie shops, as they seem to have the most cant live without stuff. I will still do any reviews that are sent to me of course, and try to get swatches of new stuff up as I get it mixed in with my older stuff as I work my way through my stash. So, that brings me to this first polish!

I have a job interview this afternoon, so when I was looking for a color to use last night I needed something interview appropriate. I finally settled on this one, OPI DS Classic. This was a gift from someone in my birthday club, which was a lot of fun but is now over as we did the full year. Not able to participate in on again due to finances, but it was a great time. DS Classic is a nude with holo, though I wasn't able to get much of the holo to show up. Its storming today, so I had to use indoor lighting and flash. I use 3 coats to fully cover and top coat. It went on easily, not quite as sheer on the first coat as I expected. I almost didn't need the 3rd coat, but did it to be safe. I am not much of a nude/neutral person or a brown person, but this polish is really beautiful and doesn't look bad with my light skin tone. Its a good color for work so you can be neutral while still having some fun with the holo in it.
