Double Orly

Happy Monday! Today was my first day back to work, so sadly that means no more nail polish during the week, and after just one day in the dish room my poor nails are suffering already :(. I'm already looking at all the days off we get for 3 and 4 day weekends, holidays and spring break lol. But I have lots of swatches done already, and I plan to still do more as time allows. I also have a challenge coming up soonish, and will hopefully start up some features to give the blog some sort of schedule, so hopefully it shouldn't get too dull! I have a bit more going on this year than last year, I am a co-leader for my daughters Daisy troop which will keep me busy, plus helping out at the school on top of work and everything else! Good thing I am very organized by nature, I'm going to need it!

Today I have the last 2 of the Orly neons that I bought, Beach Cruiser and Skinny Dip. I love neons, I think they just might be my favorite type of color/finish after holos, and just above duo/multichromes. Its a pretty close race though! I wore both of these earlier this summer, both were two coats with normal base and top coats, I didn't use white under these this time. Formula was good, went on a little patchy on the first coat but giving it a couple minutes to dry before the second coat it evened out perfectly with no problems. I do believe Orly is quickly climbing up the list of my favorite big name brands!

First I have Beach Cruiser, a very bright hot pink creme. I wore this one to a birthday party for a 7 year old, and everyone loved it! I don't think I have ever gotten so many compliments on polish before. I found myself checking out my nails quite often as well. Here it is, in the sun:

And then we have Skinny Dip, a bright blue creme. If I had to pick a least favorite out of the 4 I bought, this would probably be it,  but with as much as I like this one, that isn't a bad thing! It is a bright blue, but compared to the other 3 I have it is the least neon out of them. It is still a great blue, almost a sky blue but brighter. Here it is in the sun as well:

I really love all 4 of the Orly neons I bought, and since I don't really follow trends I'm sure I will find myself reaching for these over the fall and winter when I need some cheering up from the lovely British weather lol.

Swap post!

Happy Sunday! Hope everyone is having a good weekend, it is so hot here I am dying :(. Yesterday was like 87 and today is supposed to be 85, which isn't bad really except when you have no air conditioning! And the hotter it gets here, the less wind and breeze there is so it sucks. I hope this is the last heat wave of the summer, bring on fall!

A little while ago, I did a little swap with the lovely Roisin of Cuti-CLUE-les which was lots of fun. In my package from her I received 3 of the Essence Snow White polishes! I love the ones she sent, I got Doc, Grumpy and The Huntsman. These are my first ever Essence polishes, and they did not disappoint. The formula on them all was great, went on easily with no troubles pooling or anything. For the pictures below I used 2 coats and no top coat and even the glitter was great! I actually sat down and swatched these the day they arrived, so I feel bad it has taken me so long to post them!

First up I have the one that I had wanted most, Doc. Doc is a lovely orange. I am still surprising myself with how much I love orange polish. Even without top coat this is shiny as well!

Next I have Grumpy, a bright blue. Another great color, I never get tired of blue polish! Again, shiny even without top coat.

And finally, I layered 2 coats of The Huntsman, a gold glitter in various size and shapes, over Grumpy. I like the glitter, and feel I got good payoff with it, but I don't think I like it over Grumpy. I will be wearing this over other colors for sure.

Once again I would like to thank Roisin for sending me these, the swap was fun! Everyone go check out her blog, she is amazing.

Naild'it Candy Corn

Happy Friday! Hope everyone had a good week. It has decided to get hot here again, which I hope wont last too long since I am ready for fall! I love fall, its my favorite season.

Today I have for you Naild'it Candy Corn. This is an amazing fall color based off my favorite candy, which I am eating a few of right now! I forget which blog I saw this on first, but I was desperate to own it after I knew it existed! I"m so happy to have it, it did not disappoint! I look forward to wearing this a lot this fall.

Here is 2 coats of Candy Corn over 3 coats Nubar White Peony. Formula was great, lots of glitter comes out on the brush. I do think I will use a different base color when I wear this as a full mani, this one is a little too light I think, kind of hid the white glitter. Still, I am in love with this polish, and I am so glad I finally got it, plus 4 others, with another 5 on their way :). Candy Corn is a clear base with gold, orange, yellow, white and black glitters in different shapes and sizes.

And here is White Peony on its own. Being a white, it was a little streaky and patchy going on, so I had to do 3 coats to get it even. But it isn't like a pure white so I think it looks a little better on my than I originally thought. But I will probably always layer over it.

Naild'it can be purchased at her Etsy shop HERE. She is closed right now, but you can like her FB page for updates HERE

Orly Fired Up collection for fall

Today I have the Orly Fired Up collection, new for fall. I'm surprised by how much I like this collection, there were a couple I was sure I wouldn't like very much, but once they were on I changed my mind. I'm starting to learn that I can like almost any color of polish, even colors I don't normally like. I can't really say if any of these colors are completely original or if there are dupes out there for them, but in my stash I have nothing like them. I know its only August, but I am ready for fall and Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas! Fall is my favorite season, so I was excited to see the deeper colors come out for nail polish. For all but one color the formula was great, not too thick and went on easily, so I will say that up here. Here are the bottles for this collection:

Glow, Flare, Rapture, Ignite, Smolder and Flicker
The rest of the pics I will put under the cut!

Color Club Metamorphasis

Today I have a post for you with a color I wore almost 2 months ago and thought I posted but didn't! My first Color Club is Metamorphasis from the Take Wing collection. I don't remember having any issues with the formula, and I'm pretty sure this is only 2 coats. Its a very pretty blue/green? with glass fleck (I think?). Since I can't remember much about it, I am taking that as a good thing! Here is the picture I have:
