C is for Candy!

Today is C in the ABC challenge! I have to say, I'm really enjoying my first challenge. Today I have for you C, which I chose candy. I used 2 coats of Sephora by OPI Techno Girl as my base, then stamped over it with Sally Hansen White On and BM-306, topped with one coat of Seche. I was more proud of this after I did it, but then when I was going through the pictures I could see way more flaws than I saw in person :(. If I had time I would have redone it after seeing all the smudges in the pics, but I edited them last night and just can't redo it. Here are the pics!

I do really like the combo of the pink with white for candy, but I'm disappointed it looks so much worse in the pics. But I'm not giving up, I'm going to keep practicing, and I will get better!

Check out what everyone else did for C here:

Rainbow Polish Shooting Star

Happy Monday! I hope everyone has a great week, I'm starting my week out positively and hoping that it carries through. I met my first weight loss goal today, so I am super excited.

Today I have a post that was supposed to go up yesterday, but I was so busy and not home long enough to even turn on my computer! This is Shooting Star from Rainbow Polish. This polish has a bit of a story behind it. The creator had a family member that had been robbed, which meant they couldn't work to support themselves. She created this polish to sell as a fund raiser, where all proceeds when to the family member. With help from all of their family, and the funds raised from the limited number of these polishes she made, they were able to give enough money so the stolen item could be replaced and the family member could get back to work! I am glad that I could help them out, and that I got this beautiful polish out of it! So here it is:

This is Shooting Star. It's a milky base with microfine, small circle, bar, hex and star holo glitters! I used 2 coats and everything came out easily, even the stars. It is shown with 1 coat of Seche. The formula was just right, and went on easily. I love this polish and it looks amazing in the sun! Sadly my camera was only able to capture little glimpses of the holo from the glitters. You can see this best on the star on my ring finger.

Here is China Glaze Fuchsia Fanatic, the color I layered Shooting Star over. I used 3 coats of this. The formula was a little on the thin side, but still fairly easy to use. Very pretty color, its just as the name suggests.

And now for some awesome news: Rainbow Polish has said that this polish will now be a permanent fund raising polish! From now until Oct 1st 50% of the proceeds for every bottle sold will go to help send a student from her sons school to Science Camp! I think that is really great, its polish with a cause. The recipient of the money will change every so often, depending on things that are going on locally around the creator or around the world.

You can purchase this and more amazing polishes from her Etsy shop here.

B is for Berryeed Treasure!

Time for another ABC challenge post! I have to admit that this week has been so busy that I kinda slacked on doing a new mani for this post, and instead am using an unposted swatch. I know, I know, only the second week in and I'm already using the polish name for the letter even though I said last week I didn't want to do that lol. I am going to have to take some time before next Wednesday to get a few weeks ahead in this challenge.

So this week I have Naild'it Berryeed Treasure over Sally Hansen The Skys the limit. The Skys the Limit is a lovely sky blue. Berryeed Treasure is a clear base with a mix of matte blacks, whites, turquoise, and magenta, with some tiny holo purple. Both polishes have great formulas, they were very easy to work with. This is 2 coats of The Skys the Limit, and only one coat of Berryeed Treasure. I got great glitter payoff with no fishing or placing of the glitters. Here are the pics!

Be sure to check out the other ladies taking part in this challenge!

ABC Challenge - A

Today is the start of the first challenge I am taking part in, the ABC challenge. I'm excited to be getting into challenges, I love to be organized so what better way than knowing what you are going to post ahead of time! We will be posting once a week, on Wednesdays, as we do one letter of the alphabet each week. The only rule is that something in your mani has to start with the letter of the week: polish brand name, polish name, color, style used to create it, anything. I am going to try to be more creative than just using brand name and polish name each week, so I can challenge myself to be better at nail art.

I received all 3 Bundle Monster stamping plate sets for my birthday last week, so I now have those to help me out! So far I love them, the designs are pretty cool. I did notice after my Bundle Monster organizer came in and I was removing the blue film off each plate and putting it in the organizer, that I was missing a plate. I looked all over to be sure it just hadn't fallen, and not finding it I emailed the company. They got back to me right away with a reply saying they were very sorry and that a replacement plate would be shipped out to me right away. Now, I haven't used any of the plates yet but the one for this mani since I just got them, but I can say I can't fault their customer service. Very pleased with that, and I'm looking forward to using the plates a lot in the future!

Chrono Cross collection (almost) by Rainbow Honey

I am going to try to get this post done and posted before I have to leave for work. Today I have for you almost the complete Chrono Cross collection by Rainbow Honey. When I ordered this Lunairetic wasn't for sale as it was being reformulated. Well, Rainbow Honey will be restocking the Chrono Cross collection on September 22nd! It looks like Lunairetic will be included, so you better believe I will be snapping it up! Gotta complete my RH collection :). Below the cut I have pictures of the 5 other colors, along with what I layered them over.

2 Megan Miller polishes

I am so glad its Friday! I've had a bit of trouble getting back into my normal working routine, but I think its getting better. Things might be a bit quiet around here for the next few days as I catch up on things I let slide a bit the last couple weeks, but starting next Wednesday I will be starting the first of 2 challenges I am taking part in! So you can count on me at least posting every Wednesday for the foreseeable future. And then in October the second challenge starts, which I believe is posted on Saturdays. So with 2 scheduled posts a week, I should be able to post at least a couple more times a week with some of the swatches I have already done that are just waiting to be posted. Kind of like todays post!

So today I have for you 2 Megan Miller colors: Caribbean and Coral Bliss. I have to admit, I think these bottles are just about the cutest I have seen, and that may have played a little part in me getting these. The sale I took advantage of helped as well lol. I picked only 2 colors because the rest just didn't appeal to me at all.

Formula for both polishes was the same, they are jellies so they are sheer, and they were on the thin side as well. Thinner than I prefer, they were kind of hard to control since they wanted to run a tiny bit.

First up is Caribbean, and as the name suggests, it is a nice blue, and it does remind me of the Caribbean waters. Very pretty color, but it took 4 coats to get it to look like this. Some visible nail line, so to be totally opaque I would need at least 1 more coat or to layer this over another polish.

The other color I chose, and the one that was on sale, is Coral Bliss. This one was slightly better, only took 3 coats to get like this. It is a nice coral color, hence the name, and I love this one. It looks a bit more red in the picture than it was in person, but not by much. Very summery! You can still see nail line, but on this one it wasn't as noticeable in person. Could probably still use that 4th coat though to be safe.
